Creating an animated film in 9 steps
Creating an animated film in 9 steps
From the first idea to the finished film: our production process shows step-by-step how we handle an animation project and actively involve our clients.
1
Kick-off
A personal chat over coffee and cake helps us to get to know each other and define common requirements and goals. This is also where initial ideas and concepts are born. The conversation can also gladly take place by phone, email or video call. In that case, however, there will unfortunately be no cake.
1
2
Concept
We summarise what has been discussed in a concept and develop initial design approaches as well as a graphical direction. Together with a proposal, the package will be on its way to you.

3
Storyboard & Styleframe
Once the offer is confirmed, we will develop a storyboard, which serves as the framework for all subsequent steps. In addition, we will design a style frame that defines the future style of the animation. For the first time, it becomes visible what the finished project will look like!

4
First Feedback
Now it's your turn: take your time to look over everything and discuss it internally. This is the ideal time for feedback – adjustments can still be implemented easily and efficiently at this stage.

First Feedback
5
Pre-production
Now we look for suitable music, write the scripts, select appropriate voice actors, and combine everything into an animated storyboard: a so-called animatic. This already gives you a very good feel for the tempo and dramaturgy of the animation.

Pre-production
6
Second Feedback
Time for your next round of voting. Watch the animatic together, discuss the music, voice actors, script and timing, and send us your consolidated feedback.

7
Production
Now we get down to the nitty-gritty! Illustrations are created, 2D and 3D assets are developed, voice actors are recorded, and music is licensed. Then the heart of the project begins: the animation. This is where the graphics are brought to life. Finally, editing, colour grading, and sound design add the finishing touches.

8
Submission
We will deliver the finished animation to you on time. In the desired format and optimised for the respective area of use. If necessary, final minor adjustments can also be made here.

Submission
9
Publication
A good film also wants to be seen! If desired, we can support you with the release and distribution of the animation. The successful collaboration ends with a celebratory project conclusion. We thank you and look forward to the next joint adventure!
